PROJECT A mobile inspired pendant lamp hand embroidered with iconographic symbols.

BRIEF Design Studio 2; brief was to make and wire a luminaire.

MATERIALS Walnut Hardwood, brass finishes, linen shade.

DESIGNED FOR MOBILITY

It can be packed and shipped in a 36x26x8 inch box with minimal tool free assembly. So it can move in with you, move out with you, and stay with you for years.

Each embroidered symbol on the lamp shade was taken from or inspired by symbols cataloged in Henry Dreyfuss’s Symbol Sourcebook of historical graphics. Each symbol is in some way relevant to the creation, existence, or form of this lamp.
